Greedy
My electric bill tripled these past 2 months. I had power outages that resulted in losing groceries that went bad. All you can say we don't charge you for electricity when the system goes down. Well that doesn't help me one bit when you are a fixed income. |

JCPL - The Non-Power and Light Company
Im putting the house up for sale just to get the hell away from you guys. A bird farts and the power goes out. We just had a little bit of rain and the power surged about 15 times, And guess what now were in a complete total loss of power. This is followed by a complete and total loss of power a few days ago once again because it rained last year I counted 12 power outages you guys are the absolute worst. |

Storm outages
This company is so frustrating!! We lose power with a wind or drizzle and the power is out they change a grid for part of the neighborhood and keep us on the old grid which loses power all the time. They say they are fixing the problem which is now on year 25. But they can up the rate for customers... |

The worst, even!!
I am a landlord, have a few properties where Jersey Central Power & Light is my service provider.
1. I have several accounts, ALL PAID ON TIME. Whenever I create a new account under my name they take $140 deposit and keep it for a year even when that account is closed. 2. When a tenant moves in, and the electricity to be transferred under his/her name, it is one of the most terrible times in my life. The process which takes 5 minuets with the gas company, for example, takes hours and days and several phone calls and shut down the electricity and we need documents, and we need to verify, and we will call you back, and nobody call back, and I (and the tenant) all again, and there's we are still verifying, and .... and ..... and..... it takes forever. 3. The customer service representatives can do nothing to help, can not contact other departments, can not look into the problem, can not.... can not..... can not.... Of course, and as a result, they hear a lot of bad things from the customers and many of them became unfriendly (compare between them and the gas companies or PSEG for example) 4. Also, looks like as a result too, all Jersey Central Power & Light phone numbers are reported as SPAM on all caller ID's. I guess that was done by several customers due to their level of frustration. 5. Hopefully, you lose your business in the area soon or be in trouble in lawsuits guys. You are the worst and most frustrating company I have ever seen. |

Electric won't stay on but they take my money
This company IS THE WORST! I live in Hopewell, NJ and I literally lose power every other weel for NO REASON AT ALL! Perfectly sunny day, power is out, no reason for it at all. I'm currently without power yet again, for literally NO REASON at all. And the cowards ALWAYS have you go through their BS automated service instead of speaking with someone. It should be a literal embarrassment, especially with PSE&G literally servicing the block across the street from me, who NEVER have any issue. This is literally every other week, twice a month guaranteed to lose power. Just complete BS. No refund or discount for anything either. They FORCE you to have use their service and then don't care about you constantly losing it. It's unbearable just losing power constantly for no reason constantly. I just want to RELAX after work and now I'm stuck in the dark HOPING the power will come back so I can hopefully charge my phone for work tomorrow. I couldn't possibly hate this company more and wish I could use more colorful language. There should be a lawsuit against this company, just ridiculous |

Worst Power Company in USA
Our power went out at 10 am. A tree fell from property across the street. A tree that I warned JCP&L two years ago. It's been dead for at least 5 years. Tree broke power pole, transformer and landed in my yard causing a small fire and related smoke. Fire Department and state police responded within 5 minutes. It took JCP&L three hours to come and see what happened. They ordered a new pole and transformer. They returned a few hours later and found out their workers had the wrong digging tool and had to order correct one. The power workers disappeared. I have not seen the since late this afternoon. It is now5 before 2am. I am 77 years old and have medical issues but I can't leave my house because wires are in the air blocking me from the street. Every 2 hours they tell me on their website tat the power will be restored in 2 hours and every wo hours they extend the time. Now says 4 am. Additionally, their website says cause is pending investigation. The truth is they have known the cause for at least ten hours. Why bother posting inaccurate information? I blame management and not the workers! |
