Had to put my name and ss # on my work account to have access
I am very unhappy with the fact that the company I work for has multiple accounts here yet I had to put my name and social security number on to the business account so I would be able to have access to handle the bills and issues as a secretary and that makes me responsible for the company I work for paying their light bills and if they don't then it goes against me and that is not fair to me because I'm just an employee. I really wish someone could explain this to me a little better because I'm not comfortable with it at all but as it being my job I had no choice.

Mitch needs an attitude check and more training in customer service skills.
You DO NOT tell a new customer whose only trying to figure out the billing process " if you would just pay attention to your bill" in a rude manner. Change your attitude, your tone and don't treat customers like they are stupid.

Worst electric company I've ever used
Nothing like going from a normal bill of around $100 to around $600. Crazy since Nothing is running during the day no one is at my house. And at night I might watch one show before bed just my dog and I. What a ripoff Nothing like making people hate this state by taking every dime anyone makes.

I cannot believe AC electric doubled its rates. I used more therms last summer but yet my bill is DOUBLE THIS PAST JULY AND AUGUST! DOUBLE!!! the corporate greed has no shame!!! Tell the CEO not to take a billion dollar bonus!!! This company is disgusting!!!!! As so many others that gouge their customers!!!

Inaccurate Billing
Spoke to Customer Service and Green for Solar. What a joke. Customer Service explains that your solar generation wasnt on your bills since the new meters where put in(another joke). Then they transfer you to Green Solar department and tell you that it was. How can you get $300 bill $200 bill then a $16.44 bill- doesnt make sense right? but they say it does. Then they tell you they are sending to a manger to look at and the manager never calls back - This has been going on for 3 months now with no resolution. I am not sure what else to do. Why can't we switch to PSE$G they service south Jersey - Customer service is the worst.

Scammers
So many issues with this company. When asked why bill kept going up after adjustments because our usage was way under the estimated. They "fixed" the bill, we owed more than we should and they won't explain how they do their math. Wish the whole company would get burned to the ground and all the scamming assholes along with it.

Unparalleled Incompetence
I transferred my service literally four blocks away to a new residence. They charged me $500 for a deposit and kept the $500 deposit for the old residence. Now they have $1000 of money and there is no way of recovering the other 500.00 which was paid to them in error by my secretary. One hand does not know what the other is doing and it is intentional. I was given a bogus fax number to request the refund . They are sleazy. And based on all of the reviews I have read there needs to be a class action lawsuit.

Unscrupulous Billing Practices from Ocean City, NJ on January 1st, 2024
How do they manage to put in new meters and put them on the wrong side. I live in #20 and they put new meters in but put #20 on #19 and #19 on #20. Number 19 moved and they cut my electric off. This is the second time this happened. The manager said the problem was fixed. The people moved out next door #19 and it happened again. I'm calling the board of utility's tomorrow morning

Meter reading always inaccurate
I have been going thru this forfour years with this company. Instead of coming in the yard to read the meter accurately they send workers and they sit in their trucks and use whatever device it and gestimate what actual reading is giving you the highest bill but if your not on top of it they get you every time my bill usually 70.00 but was sent a bill for almost 400.00 you have to call and give your own meter reading if you dont want to be taken advantage of
Now they have these smart readers coming out lets see how this goes but the company is committing exstortion. The worst ever
If you having problems with them contact nj consumer affairs you got go above their heads they straight up crooks!

Unpaid bill
I moved from south Jersey back in June Atlantic City electric is horrible they jacked my bill up to over 2,000$ used to live in all electric house was paying 500$/ month for there so called payment plan asked for help numerous times regarding this were now In late October there threatening to send it to collections so I refuse to pay anything on it send to collections I don't care this is completely unacceptable after the fact I canceled service and moved from the service as address so take it as a loss your not getting my money not one dime

I called to report an incorrect meter reading and was told to take a picture of the meter and send it to a certain email address. Although I politely asked the rep to repeat the email address, I still could not understand what she said. I thought I could go to the website and find the address, but there is no place to report a faulty reading. Does anyone have the correct email address for Atlantic City electric?

Monthly bill drastic overcharge
My bill has been between $300 - $400 a month and it has hasn't changed much for the months of MY , June July and out of nowhere I get my June bill and it's $960 . No air condioner on nor has anything changed in my house . Needless to say calling , Emailing sending pics and no one has bother to return my calls or emails . Poor , unacceptable customer service. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE AT ALL !

Wildwood
Atlantic City Electric should be ashamed of their efforts on the wildwood island its been 28 hours where customers have not had power and they havent done anything to solve the problem other than give customers false hope. Families and businesses are losing tons of money on food and other amnesties due to the absolute incapability of the company. The only way they can make this right is by giving compensation to all affected by the outage and I hope and pray that the power is back before more families decide to go back home.

They lie, they cheat, they steal. They need to be all locked up. Everyone at our campground pay at a different then the other. How can that be. When you go to turn your service on, you think you getting deposit back. Everybody pays a different deposited. You won't. Unless scream and shout for it back! I can go on and on, but I'm at work paying their bill off.

Dishonest customer service
Wasn't able to pay balance online due to their website having problems. Called customer support and they were trying to make me pay over the phone with $2 processing fee, when I told them it was free online with a bank account I was told that wasn't true and that there was fee online too. I have been paying online for years and it was always free. She was trying her hardest for me to pay over the phone plus the processing fee.

I've been having issues with them since day 1
Not enough space to write all the issues. I'm supposed to be on the budget and they kicked me off and it's never been the same amount each month like I was told it was supposed to be. When they kicked me off there was no notice I didn't even know I was kicked off. Each representative don't know what the right and left they're doing. I'm being told one thing and then by another another thing. They're trying to fix it they put in for someone to review it and nobody's reviewing it. See because it's electric they have you over a barrel because they know you have to have your electric. It's not right. I just want somebody that knows what they're doing to call me and fix it. I'm paying what I'm supposed to be paying. The online must be behind, like really behind.

Was receiving credits from the USF grant as well as paying my monthly bill. Spoke with a rep and they stated that due the merger in March there has been an increase spike in customers bills. They put me on hold then hung up on me. This is ridiculous. AC Electric, you already have everyone in S. Jersey in your pocket cause you have no competition so you go and rape your customers for what? cause your a greedy business with your foot on the customers necks. shame on you!!!

Is this the way atlantic city electric treats it's elderly? i have a high fico score and a perfect payment history. this is my fault, i moved away from an area serviced by pse&g and stupidly moved south where i was stuck with atlantic city electric. at least pse&g workers are coherent and verbal. these guys just lie. i was lied to when i initiated service. i was lied to about the requirements for a security deposit. i was lied to about how long it would take for me to get my money back and now i finally have a a letter that states i will receive my $230 security deposit back on May 15, 2022 and they still do nothing. i call every day. i speak to a rep and a supervisor every day. get told every day "they see it in the system" "it's going to be applied" "but, no, sorry they can send me an email stating that". day after, month after month. there is always another reason, another excuse, another lie. i never get my money back. is the new way to treat the elderly in nj?

Still waiting for refund check several months later!
On December 16th of 2021 I closed out my account. I am due for a refund close to $300.00. The property was an investment and my bills were always sent to my actual address up North. Atlantic City Electric never sent bills or anything to the property but decided to send my refund check there after the fact the account was closed out. Now its April 2022 and I still dont have my refund check after calling several times every single month. Every single month theres always an excuse of why I still dont have the refund check. I would never recommend Atlantic City Electric.

Very sad to hear that they been charging me high monthly bills because they only calculate base on prior year and occasionally they send someone to read how much electricity I am using. first call I made they recommend me to change and I change to LED low voltage everything is to economize energy however the bills still going up. I called today and the experience I got is terrible the lady that took my call did not want to help which is seems to be normal with this company.

When you call the Customer Service phone #, they tell you to email individual departments. There is no other way to get information, without emailing them right now because everyone is working remotely. When you email, no one responds. I've been emailing for months and they respond with a question, but no solution and no answers to my questions. It's so frustrating - a Catch 22. If only there was another option down here for electricity.

This is the only electric company in Newjersy there is no other option my bills are always high I never see a meter man and I'm always home . Board of utility takes complaints but does nothing. I'm on USF budget billing deferred payment arrangements and bills are still $3 and $4 hundred dollars a month.

December of 2019 I received a almost $900 bill. I called and I was told they audited the bills from the last 6 monyptns and they misbilled me. They said oh its not your fault you got the bill and you paid it. But even sent them for the wrong amount. I told them this was ridiculous and unfair especially right before Christmas. I was told that yeah but you still used the electricity. Oh and I could go on a payment plan. We slowly paid if off. Well 6 months later it happened again. Im sick of it. I pay my bills. How do I know that any of it is true. I honestly dont trust them or their billing.

Overcharging of Services and Poor Customer Services
My husband and I moved to Glassboro, NJ temporary from Philadelphia after selling our home. We moved into an 800 sq ft unit and were experiencing a VERY unusually high electric bill for its size. My husband and I moved in the apartment the end of April, our May bill was $102.42 which seemed a little high, but we took into consideration of the move (lights and air condition being used while getting settled in). The next month the bill jumped to $348.52, which was very shocking to us. My husband and I have a habit of reserving our utilities to maintain our expenses. At this point we agreed it was best to make sure we didnt use the air condition at all and to rely on floor fans. For the course of four (4) months we ended up paying $1,674.42 with no air condition for a 800 sq ft apartment. Mind blowing!

Sometime in August 2019 I called Atlantic City Electric to see if they could investigate the matter and replace the meter. I spoke to a representative, John, who questioned my integrity and claimed that it was no way possible that we did not use our air conditioner. After a very heated call, I managed to get them to agree to replace the meter. I was told by this same person, John, to give it 30 days for the change to reflect in our meter reads and that they would evaluate our previous bills to determine a refund or credit. I was asked to check back in a month. I called in September to inquire about the status of the investigation and was told by a different representative (female) that this can take a while and to check back with them. In October my husband asked me to check the status of the refund/credit to see where we were with Atlantic City Electric company. I spoke with a woman who checked the system and confirmed that the process was in motion. That it will take up to 3 months for them to come to any conclusions. I asked what happens if we move, then what? They told me that we would be issued either a refund (sent to our new home) or a credit (if we havent moved yet or should decide to transfer the services to our new address). I was given an estimated time frame to see or hear back from them by December/January.

Once the meter was changed, in the last 4 months our meter drop significantly to the average of $75/month since October. Still high for our 800 sq ft apartment, but based on our lifestyle and activities its okay.

Its now the end of January 2020 and I havent heard ANYTHING from Atlantic City Electric company. I followed up today and I am being told that the last activity shown on my account was switching the meter. There was never any investigation issued and because this issue happened a while ago and that it took place last year they were not able to consider the claim at all. I asked to speak to a manager and was told the person was unavailable.

Trying to get an understanding of the situation we learned from members of our management office and local neighbors that it was no surprise to see that we are going through the issues we are having with Atlantic City Electric company, as it seems to be an on-going problem around here. With all the run around you get from Atlantic City Electric company most people dont have the time in their schedule to fight these issues. We were told the best thing we could have done was to force them to change our meter.

I think its a disgrace to see such a company ABUSE and take advantage of hardworking people by overcharging, treating customers so rudely, and with disregards! Its one of the reasons why I would prefer NOT to live in South Jersey if I have to deal with companies like Atlantic City Electric (who by the way is located in Delaware) that monopolizes the territory.

Poor feed back on my electric bill
My issue started on 8/29/19. My July-Aug bill was $1,235.44 but my June to July bill was $ 685.92. To date I still do not have this issue resolved. I have made 13 calls to A,C, Electric, I was waiting for a revised bill. I rec'd my Sept to Oct bill with a balance of 465.29 with no explanation. Also my budget increased from $333 to $485 also no valid explanation. I rec'd one return call from a supervisor named Mrs. James who assured me this would be resolved. I have left 2 voice mail messages to her with no return call. I called again today and spoke to Morgan who said I would receive a return call today that never happened, I am very dissatisfied with the customer service since this started back in August and we are now in the month of Nov. I would like someone to step forward and resolve this issue before my next bills due date which is Nov 13th. Today is Nov 5th 2019
